Let me know when you website is online

Oh my god why can’t we just finish our bloody website for Christ’s sake…

Hi. This is a long text for a website. Everyone tells us that we should keep things short here. But we just can’t. We’re the kind of company who thinks that some people just won’t read anything anyway. So they’re already gone. Off to Instagram or Cambridge Analytica or some weird site dedicated to cats who look like celebrities. God knows where these people are. We don’t like them anyway. They are ugly and rude. See we can say what we want because they aren’t reading this. We like that idea. For those who have 2 minutes of their time to spare, we like you. And here’s the story. Ok

Hi,

This is a long text for a website. Everyone tells us that we should keep things short here. But we just can’t. We’re the kind of company who thinks that some people just won’t read anything anyway. So they’re already gone. Off to Instagram or Cambridge Analytica or some weird site dedicated to cats who look like celebrities. God knows where these people are. We don’t like them anyway. They are ugly and rude. See we can say what we want because they aren’t reading this. We like that idea. For those who have 2 minutes of their time to spare, we like you. And here’s the story.

So it all started about 2 years ago when we decided our website needed an upgrade. It was still perfectly fine but you know us creatives who get tired of things way too fast and just can’t resist the urge to reinvent ourselves. Well we did that. For no good reason. Here we are. Exactly 21 months late. That’s about 95 weeks or 3,583 man hours past deadline. Can you just imagine if we did this kind of stupid on our clients projects? We would have been out of business 9 years ago. Come to think of it, it’s pretty much the time it took to redo the Desjardins logo so it’s not that bad when you think of it really. Perspective is everything. Anyway, we run a tight ship here at Stand Mtl and we are putting our collective foot down. This site will be online this summer or we will give all of you new Teslas. There. We are now fully committed to delivering this fucking site. It’s like being in labour for 37 hours. No matter what comes out, it will be fine and we will love it no matter what.

But to be perfectly honest, we think it’s going to be really nice. Still too many words but beautiful images of our best work, some cool stories and inspiration, our leader’s brutally honest opinion on all sorts of topics that affect companies, brands and agencies today. Maybe a profile of a member of our team once in a while. Less quantity and more quality. And a site that feels more like us. We’ve created some world-class projects over the past few years that you haven’t seen yet. And we’re really proud of them. Our clients are winning and growing. We’re doing cool stuff like hotels now. And we’re finally getting noticed abroad for our packaging work, which is really cool. So we could have just said « under construction » but we will always prefer telling you the truth as we see it and opening the curtain even if it’s digital. It’s in our DNA. Never hold back. Always stand up and be heard. Always stand for what you believe in. Never think for a second that people don’t care.

So please give us you e-mail so we can send you a note to tell you when the site is finally up or where to pick up your new Tesla if we do the unthinkable again. Have a great summer. Thanks for reading this. We’re sure you feel better now.

Carry on.
